Please realize there are different teams of people at iRacing that work on different areas of the sim/service. It's not like spending X hours on a new car takes X hours away from tire development, physicals development, marketing, etc. So most of the comments saying "you should be working on X instead" don't really make sense. Been an iRacing member for close to 6 years and their progress in all areas over this time has been amazing. Cars, tracks, dirt, rally, new UI, tire models, damage, day/night transitions, endurance, teams racing, VR, on and on. Good job, iRacing!

Sim Racing is inevitably becoming a "bona fide sport, " in the sense that now you have manufacturers devoting time and resources to develop content exclusively for it. It won't be only game developers engaging in this anymore, but rather the very same players in the real world stage. Already you have esports leagues with real stakes - which will only become higher - and manufacturers/teams like Ferrari with a nascent esports arm. The global pandemic has accelerated this. Five years from now (or maybe even sooner) we won't recognize the landscape, which may be populated with content developed by the biggest names in motorsports, competing to develop content only meant for winning in the digital world - and not bound by faithfulness to real life. Not sure if that merits joy or tears.
