Olympian Rebecca Cheptegei Set On Fire Allegedly By Boyfriend Weeks After 2024 Paris Games

Just weeks after competing at the 2024 Olympics, runner Rebecca Cheptegei is in the hospital. The 33-year-old is in critical condition and receiving treatment for burns on 75 percent of her body after being set on fire allegedly by her boyfriend Dickson Ndiema, according to multiple outlets. Trans Nzoia county police commander Jeremiah Ole Kosiom shared that Ndiema “bought a jerrican of petrol, poured it on her and set her ablaze during a disagreement” at Cheptegei's house in Kenya on Sunday, according to the Associated Press.
