This is one of the most iconic metal songs ever written for me.

"Somewhere in Time" is one of the best Iron Maiden albums.. beginning to end!

Lex, saying her heartbeat is an Iron Maiden guitar solo, instantly checkmating the cynicism of fans everywhere 😂👏👏

Monks meditate, Lex finds her internal vibration through an Iron Maiden guitar solo. Lex: "That is the epitome of the undertone of my existence." Your thoughts always fascinate.

Up the irons! 🤘 One thing I always recommend when people listen to Maiden is always keep an ear on the bass. Steve Harris is just a beast on the bass. Listen to those bass lines. 😉

You guys are just AWESOME. I grew up listening to these songs, and seeing you guys discovering them is so nice. Lex is such a metal head, and Brad seems to be comig around ;)
Keep it up!

This song is about the life on the road as a metal band and being away from home. A masterpiece

The best Dickinson years, what a unique voice.... and every time, even after all this years, this solo gives me goosebumps.

This brings me back to a mid-winter Sunday evening, 35 years ago. Sitting in a train, with 2 hours ahead of me, on my way to the army barracks where I was stationed back then. Watching all the street and station lights flash by in the dark as we speed at 80 mph on a cold steel rail road. The cadence is soothing. Got my headset on and plugged in into my walkman. Playing the album Somewhere in Time out loud twice until I reach my destination. And again during the walk from the train station to the barracks in the icy cold dark on the desolated and empty streets. Just me and Iron Maiden.

Lex's reaction to hearing Maiden songs for the first time is exactly how we are felt when hearing new Maiden songs. Steve Harris is a wizard on the bass, he always has his own little riff inside the song which most bass players don't. Long live the Irons 🤘🤘

I remember listening to this on our tour bus in 87. I was just 20 on my way to the next show. No family or home. Just the 4 other guys in the band. This song brings it back vividly.

"You're the youngest you'll ever be" & ".. the smartest you've ever been" are gold!

So LEX, what you're saying is that guitar solos literally speak to your soul! Me too, but mostly blues guitar, like SRV.

The best solo on this incredible album is on the song 'Stranger in a Strange Land' - you need to hear it Lex. 'Somewhere in time' was Maiden's 6th studio album and the first time they dabbled with guitar synths. They got some criticism for this but the whole album had a real ethereal quality to its production, mainly the electric guitar sound.

I have a confession. I love the Devildriver song “Wasted Years” and just now found out it was a cover of this song.

This hovers around my top 5 Maiden tracks. I love the bass work in it.

Guitarist Adrian Smith wrote this track and it reflects a more focused, less bombastic approach for Maiden.
