He enters a different world when he starts singing.
He is so different when he's not on a stage.
It's beautiful.

We talked about making it
I'm sorry that you never made it
And it pains me just to hear you have to say it
You knew the game and played it
It kills to know that you have been defeated
I see the wires pulling while you're breathing
You knew you had a reason
It killed you like diseases
I can hear it in your voice while your speaking you can't be treated
Mr. Know it all had his reign and his fall
At least that's what his brain is telling all
If he said help me kill the president
I'd say he needs medicine
Sick of screaming let us in
The wires got the best of him
All that he invested in goes
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
He told me I should take it in
Listen to every word he's speaking
The wires getting older I can hear the way their creaking
As their holding him
Well I could see it in his jaw
That all he ever wanted was a job
He tells me to be raw
Admits to me that every little flaw
That never let him sit upon the top
Won't tell me to stop
Thinks that I should be a little cautious
I can tell the wires pulled
If he said help me kill the president
I'd say he needs medicine
Sick of screaming let us in
The wires got the best of him
All that he invested in goes
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
I'm having trouble in believing
And I just started seeing
Light at the beginning of the tunnel but he tells me that I'm dreaming
When he talks I hear his ghosts every word they say to me
I just pray the wires aren't coming
If he said help me kill the president
I'd say he needs medicine
Sick of screaming let us in
The wires got the best of him
All that he invested in goes
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Straight to hell
Straight to hell
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Straight to hell
Straight to hell

if any of you have ever read paper towns by john green, this song kind of reminds me of the part where margo and q go to the park and they find this dead guy who shot himself. then margo goes and investigates about this guy, and she finds out that he just got divorced, and margo and q say that lots of people get in divorces and don't kill themselves. then margo says (quote) "Maybe all the strings inside him broke" and i guess i sorta see strings and wires as the same thing. maybe he kinda went crazy and just didn't know what to do so he just decided to end right there in a children's playground. idk maybe I'm the only one that thinks

I miss being able to listen to The Neighbourhoods songs and go to the comments without a bunch of 14 year old girls orgasming.

I did some research on the lyrics' meaning and found this:
This song is about Jesse’s Friend getting into the music industry with him. But his friend failed and Jesse got pretty popular. The Wires are a metaphor for the industry controlling what they do. His friend crushed his dream by following instructions and becoming an industry puppet. Hence, the Wires. The friend is willing to do something crazy to be looked up to, and Jesse explains this by his friend asking him to “kill the president” but Jesse believes in a higher quality of music that is based on the dream rather than the money. Jesse doesn’t wanna end up like his friend who is doing everything he can; being desperate. Mr.Friend thinks he knows better because the industry people have given him the know-how, but he’s keeping himself down, and all the money he spent was useless, because he went straight down. Everyone won’t stop telling his friend how things should be done, and it becomes only a job. When his friend is screaming “let us in”, they want into the music industry, and it’s hard to do because it’s so cutthroat. Jesse stats seeing fame, but he thinks he’s dreaming, and his friend doesn’t like that he put in so much more effort but Jesse was the one that got popular. And now Jesse prays that he won’t get "puppeted" like that.
