1 Minute Book Review - Self Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson

One of the leading proponents of Transcendentalism, Emerson's classic essay Self-Reliance is one of several in this collection.

This particular essay was very influential on me in my early 20's, particularly in terms of teaching me to seek my own answers and trust my intuition rather than attempting to conform to one particular religion or school of thought. Emerson posits a simple philosophy of looking inwards and this is beautifully elucidated with language that reads like poetry at times:

"Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string."

Epic.

I would recommend reading the essays as I feel some of the impact is lost with this particular Audible narration.
