J OPC needs decat. Turbocharger already boosts 1.5 bar into the engine. Remap won't help until you throw out the primary catalysator, which comes directly after the charger. Throwing this thing out, even without remapping, will help a lot.

This is real, I also own a OPC J stage 1 and a friends has a GTi MK6 stage 1 and the gti wins... better weight/power ratio + dsg

All the diference between the two cars made because the golf as a tuned car on the intake and exhaust have better air and fume flow, if astra have a better intake and a full decat it will be front without more boost, only a ecu tune which exploits the new data.

Let's say it was a standard Golf pushing 200bhp before the remap... Now its up by an extra 65bhp on a stage 1.. An opel pushing 280bhp stock... Now it's up by an extra 20bhp on a stage 1? I appreciate different engines respond differently to tuning but there's no way that that Opel was pushing 300bhp and lagging like that... That's the sort of performance I would expect from a stock Opel.... and even then, it "should" of at least been kinda neck and neck....

GTI its the same engine as the Audi S3 or Seat Leon Cupra R and they are stock 265 HP, so if you remap a GTI guess what... you obtained 265 hP
The 2.0 L 280 HP of the OPC J it is almost to its limit, thats why it gain only 20 Hp with remap but gain almost 17 Hp more with Downpipe and Midpipe

on the other hand opc's are not good at power/weight ratios and bad at transferring the power to the ground

Look for the ecu tunning for OPC J by EDS = 300 Hp
OPC J weight a LOT almost 1550 kg, GTi weights around 1390.
Now do maths Kg/Hp
I actually did a rolling vs a GTI stage 1 + APR carbon induction kit
GTI wins. With my friends we have test all hot hatches with diferentes stages: OPC J, OPC H, Megane RS, Gti, Cupra R, etc

Also Astra H stage 2 with CAI, and DECAT is faster than OPC J only with remap.
