I don't quite agree with Theo's rationale. Nobody knew that we needed digital cameras before they were invented, for instance. We just remember how disappointing it was to have to wait to have our photos developed and then finding that someone blinked at the wrong moment and there was no way to get that picture again. Heck, we probably didn't know that we needed umbrellas before they were invented. We just remember how uncomfortable it was to get wet.
