QUALITY ASSURANCE & ACCREDITATION OF ENG. PROGRAMME AT THE FACULTY OF ENG, U.W.I. Trinidad E.I Ekwue

The quality of engineering education is challenging and of paramount importance in today’s globalised world. The Faculty of Engineering at the University of the West Indies (UWI) inherited a western education system and the accreditation systems in the five departments within the Faculty are based on the British Accreditation System. This paper provides a description of quality assurance and accreditation processes carried out at the Faculty of Engineering and sees this as a method for maintaining and improving the quality systems in the Faculty.
