I’d Rather Burn Lyrics:
--------------------------------------------------------
Verse:
I'd rather go to the stake
I'd rather go to the stake
I'd rather burn, oh I'd rather burn
I'd rather burn at the stake

But know I'll return and I'll be dead awake
I'll be dead awake, rising from the stake

And when you hear the following tune
You'll know, you'll know
When you hear the following tune
You'll know that I'll be with you
And when you hear the following tune
You'll know, you'll know
When you hear the following tune
You'll know that I'll be with you soon

I'll show you I am capable of causing such pain
With my delicate and fragile lady brain
I will not let you get away
I'd rather burn at the stake

But know I'll return and I'll be dead awake
I'll be dead awake, rising from the stake

And when you hear the following tune
You'll know, you'll know
When you hear the following tune
You'll know that I'll be with you
And when you hear the following tune
You'll know, you'll know
When you hear the following tune
You'll know that I'll be with you soon

Dadada dada dada dada dada da
Dadada dada dada dada dada da

Won't let you take my soul away
I'd rather go to the stake
I'd rather burn, oh I'd rather burn
I'd rather burn at the stake

I love that this whole song is the witch's curse.

I have no idea why youtube recommended this to me, but it speaks to my inner emo teen and I'm here for it

Edit: to everyone wanting to comment on this saying it's not emo, it's goth, or thinking by this comment I'm appropriating emo/goth culture: this is just a nostalgic comment about how this reminds me of the music I loved as a teen. That's it, don't try and analyze it, that's all it is. Thanks

She pulls that evil glare off so well, makes her a true witch in this video

Honestly only a handful of artists do their research into the witchy occult and esoteric imagery they try to depict in their music and she’s one of the small handful of bands who actually do their research. Good job. And I give you props for putting the spirit at the top of the pentagram where it belongs. I also give you props for not turning witchcraft into a Harry Potter’esk depiction. And further props for not overly modernizing traditional witchcraft. The dress on the singer is relatively time accurate for the only part of the world who’s ever actually burned witches at the stake. So props to you on that as well.

"They taught us to fear the 'witches'
instead of those that murdered them."

saw this online somewhere and deeply resounded with me.

Great song, I really enjoyed the “witchy” and medieval aesthetic of it, and the sound is very unique and beautiful. This is truly a great and very original band.

Just as the witch said, they may have burned her body, but her spirit and the spirit of witchcraft itself persisted. Now today we see the return, of paganism and witchcraft rising from the stake. Love the song! Blessed be!

Playing with some really powerful themes and lyrics here:

"I will cause such pain with my fragile lady brain."

Zora's movements, expressions, and words are so powerful here, and the instrumentals perfectly synchronize with her vocals to create a really impactful scene---you can practically feel the emotion and message here.

I don't know if that even makes any sense but this is one of the rarest songs that go through my body and wander around my soul, I'm just in love with this masterpiece and so glad that we still have this kind of music in this soulless world.
