Firstly the Yates brothers are considered in the second rank of climber's just below Pog, Rog and Vinky. Adam finished 3rd in the TdF two years ago, and his bro won the Vuelta. They have been storied riders for years. They both ride with Stonewall expressions, whether leading or getting dropped. Adam was nearly ten minutes down on GC so was allowed to go on a break. He had targeted this stage, and used the climbs as the base of his training camp. And he was exhausted and panting for over five minutes after the line.
