The Pillager's were not a raid, they were a patrol. The "Voluntary Exile" status effect that you got when you killed the banner bearer (the patrol's leader) is what triggers a raid whenever you enter a village with the status effect. The status effect can be stacked if you kill multiple patrol leaders without first removing the effect. A warning, any place with villagers who have access to beds and workstations is considered a village by the game, this includes Iron farms and trading halls like I Trade. Like all status effects drinking a bucket of milk removes "Voluntary Exile". I suggest doing so asap since the Shopping District and New Hermitville (iirc that's the name of the 1.14 area) both have "villages" in them and raids there would be a bad headache on the best of days.
Edit: Sweet! You cleared the effect. :) I'm going to leave the earlier part of my post incase someone who doesn't understand the mechanic stumbles on it. :) I hope you're weekend went well. :)

Incredible job Cleo, Tortuga is looking fantastic including all the murder. The table in your ship feels a bit too big for the room, but everything looks very good.

You should add a torture area with X, Bdubs, and Karalis locked inside, for reasons.
Also, my 5 yr old walked up while I was typing this and could instantly tell I was watching "Teacher Cleo" by the armor stands. Lol

chicken and potatoes could be on a ship. Potatoes are a staple seafaring food, and livestock like chickens would be kept alive during the voyage until, er, needed.

I don't think the back half of Tortuga is in another dimension. I think this actually tells a story! Hear me out:


There is one 'you' on the ship and another 'you' at the tavern in Tortuga. Perhaps this whole thing tells the story of how the pirates came to Tortuga and defeated the EVIL cod men (seen at the docks), and then the rest of the town tells what happened after: everyone living under the new pirate regime. 'You' are at the tavern celebrating because that's fun and being the governor is BORING.
Everyone is happy. Because they have to. Otherwise, they'll get their corally spine exposed by the grandiose pirate overlords. A-All hail the the pirate overlords!
