Pernambuco Wood and Bows: An Uncomfortable Truth

We are at the center of a global discussion about the amount of illegal Pernambuco wood circulating worldwide. Although the species is currently listed in Appendix II of CITES, there seems to be a sense of safety and legality. However, we are witnessing a growing number of cases of Pernambuco smuggling intended for bows, sold in Europe, the United States, and Asia. We Brazilians are witnessing the spread of much misinformation on this topic. Watch this video to better understand and join us in this project to save the species.
