🚨 One important thing to note for folks who decide to get the Oceania expansion! 🚨
In Australia the word "legs" is pronounced and spelled the same way as "Lay Eggs" so the rule book is really confusing. Be careful not to mix the two up.

I can't believe how good the quality of these videos is for a gag video. The camera work, miceophone, and explanation are legitimately better than so many videos that are actually trying to teach the rules.

I play with the optional rule that a failed transmogrification results in a writhing mass of feather, bone, and legs. I find the extra randomness really ups the stakes!

You’ve completely disregarded the important beginning establishment rule where you take as many eggs as you can fit in your hand, roll them all, and however many eggs end up standing upright is either the number of birds that will actually accept the new legs or will allow your birds-with-legs the extra power of ability to run... meaning more effective beach balls or extra dominance points (I can’t remember which).

I'm not really supposed to say anything, but I'm beta testing the latest Canadian expansion. I think after the Australian expansion was so violent, they tried to dial it back a bit in the Canadian one. The main goal of the game is to try to help the humans instead of stealing from them by bringing them trinkets. It's ok, I guess, but the only new bird is a crow. And you have to keep saying, "Sorry" any time two or more people choose the same human. You just keep saying it back and forth until someone passes out or needs to excuse themselves to go to the bathroom. Oh, and the new binding agent is maple syrup, so the components get pretty sticky by the games end.

I think you mean "In case of a tie, the player with more leg wins".

Thank you for this video. I learned this game from the rulebook and played it once, but wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I'm glad that you explained the transmogrifying rule because after every single attempt to transmogrify we had tokens in other compartments and it seemed impossible to succeed at the game. I thought it was just us playing it wrong but this tutorial confirmed that that's indeed the rule.

Have you tried playing the game with real eggs for a more immersive experience during transmogrification? Would you suggest chicken eggs or stealing eggs from bird's nests?

Jeff, is there any distinction between what piece you choose during the "Play a bird" action? I feel like a player who can recreate La Boheme should be better compensated then someone who performs, say, Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark.
