Abandoned Hammond + Champness Lifts

This is the abandoned Gravesend Maternity Hospital known as M Block. It was closed in 2004 after a new hospital was built nearby. It's due for demolition soon (as of 2018) so me and JC take a look at the Hammond and Champness lifts. It was a bit of challenge to see inside one of the cars but we managed to do it!

Went in the lift room today to look for myself and have to admit it is rather cool seeing all that stuff, we even bumped into some other explorers just as we went to go in. Scared the crap out of us though 😂

What's the worst is that I have a old elevator in the building I live, and the staircase goes around the shaft, which doesn't have a solid wall, but see-through bars. Dx

That last bit scared me and I didn't even have headphones LOL! You are insanely brave - I would go nowhere near that building let alone go up to the motor room and into the lift - Great video morthren.
I was surprised how the lift motors and PLC were almost intact! Most buildings have had their lifts crashed and the motors have been sold for scrap metal. Is there a plan to demolish it soon?

At 4:39 there seems to be part of a traction machine sitting on the floor just to the left of the screen (the blue thing with the yellow pulley) did someone took one of the motors apart or was that a leftover of the modernization process in 1992 ?
