My opinion: I live in Spain and it's very safe I go to the park by myself I buy things myself and I also go to school myself and I'm nine it's very easy to find yourself around and make friends it's also easy to learn Spanish and Catalan the teachers are very nice and it's very cheap sweets cost like 5 cents and you can explore alot of things in Spain the school gives you trips and in the last days of school they give you gift the cost of school is like 60 euros so I hope you Visit!

As a Spaniard I can say Spain is good for a lot of things, but University isn't one of them. Our highschool educational system is extremely competitive, but I can't say the same for university. The proffesors tend to be "funcionarios", which means they can't get fired despite whatever they do, and as a consequence they don't tend to take their jobs very seriously. The only mildly competitive colleges are in Barcelona, but some of the classes are in Catalán... So yeah, not ideal.

Edit: med schools are the exception. But only the public ones.
