What your seeing is the design being pushed thru making it look as if it's sliding, but you'll notice the "sliding" is only on the reverse. (Monticello)

Check out this coin. eBay sales... I got a double struck flip over double date 1989 nickel. I love my errors, got the 1955 ddo penny, 1972 ddo penny.
