Indo-China relation is a story of ups and downs in their bilateral relationship on account of different perceptions in the global context and border disputes. China does not recognize the Macmohan line demarketing India- China border in the Himalayan region. After the occupation of Tibet, the borders of China and India have become contiguous for 4000KM. China wants a dominating position in Asia and as a second superpower after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. China also wants to become hegemonistic power in Asia. While India wants to become a dominating power in South and South East Asia and to come out as a preeminent power in World politics. Thus, the different perceptions and ambitions of both India and China in the context of Asia and global politics led to the face-off between both powers occasionally. However, the trade relationship is growing between China and India by leaps and bounds, though the balance of trade is heavily in favor of China. It is incumbent upon the government of India, the public sector, private sectors in India to reverse the adverse trade with China and make the balance of trade in favor of India.
