Are There Different Races Of People?

Are there different races of people? Charles Darwin, in his book The Descent of Man, said there were different races and some were closer to the apes than others. But the Bible tells us very clearly all humans are descended from one man and one woman, Adam and Eve. If we're all descendants of just two people, that means we’re all one race.

I saw an interesting video of a person who had complete color blindness, and technicians had created a wearable device that could translate the colors to his brain. Everyone got translated as various shades of orange. :)

This is what I have believed since I was a child. Sadly, my family does not share my beliefs, they believe that God separated "the races" at the tower of babel and that God is against "interracial" relationships because He intended us to separate and not mix with other "races". But at the same time they believe that we all go back to Noah and that God did create one man and one woman but we still came from from Noah and his family. I actually just bought Ken Ham's book One Race One Blood but for the time being I'm hiding it when I'm not reading it because I don't know what they'll do. They have threatened to disown me if I have a "black" boyfriend, just because he's "black" no other reason.

Oldest modern human remains currently dated to 350ky ago. But newer genetic studying shows those humans probably interbred with different archaic humans in different parts of the world.

Thats what I thought as well. If we all descended from Adam and Eve, many differences can be accounted for due to living in different environments, bodies adapting to new environments and diet, over extended periods in time.

Actually, later I discovered in a course while in Western Europe, our bodies begin to adapt to changing circumstances soon after changes are introduced in the same generation.

Case in point. I'm of Mexican American descent-part Mexican and Spanish. I lived in Germany for a little over 3 years. After about 18 to 24 months, my skin tone began turning much lighter. My own mother initially didn't recognize me when I first walked off the plane. After the fact, my mom said, I sort of looked like her son, but didn't think I was her son because her son wasn't so light in complexion. It was hilarious. I told my mom not to worry. After a month in Texas, I'll look more like her son. I like being out in the son alot.
