Love the detail when you build a new quadcopter.

One thing I recommend when soldering to thru-hole pads that way, not feeding the wire through the hole, is to feed solder all the way through the via (the hole). The thru-hole solder pads are not very big and may not have the best bonding to the board, so depending on how well the board is made, using that method could lead to the pads lifting off the board. If you run solder through the vias, it makes they far more rigid. It is easiest to do this with the board held on its edge, heat one side with the iron and feed the solder into the hole on the other, then when full, tap both pads to level the solder.

Red stapler! Nice reference, I love that movie!

Flite test!

That was a fantastic video, easy to follow, and certainly precise in application.  Although I don't plan on getting the exact drone you showed, the presentation was most helpful.

Thank You,

Great video, very well detailed and even better that the build was not done with time lapse. Still alot to take in lol.

a good idea is to put a piece of prop on top of the esc, and then put the tape over it. I always do this, and it has protected the esc's through many crashes! (;

I'd suggest for arm-mounted ESCs to put a single piece of electrical tape running lengthwise under each one. That way if a solder joint gets knocked loose inside your wrap later it won't make contact with the conductive carbon fiber underneath :)

One of the best build videos! Well done

Mad props to you TJ, you made this look easy but I am pretty nervous about ever making a quad. I just made my first plane and this video made that seem super easy.

Oh and thanks for the video.
I bought a Crossfire Micro too, so I'm all wanting to build a long(er) range as well, so was really happy when I saw the FT270 intro and subsequent videos.
Thanks guys.

Where can I get a COMPREHENSIVE shopping list for one of these. For a newbie looking to get into the sport, it seems there are a LOT of things I need to know before even being able to begin ordering parts. I have a FrSky 2.4G Taranis Q X7 controller
and a Skyzone SKY02S V+ headset, and would love to make a single purchase that I knew would come with all the pieces and parts I'd need.

Hey TJ its DAMPERS not DAMPENERS. A dampener would make something wet while a damper smooths movement. ❤ keep up the great work guys!

I use foam tape under my ESC's. I think it looks better and it provides some cushion/protection.

Hey, you wanna add some double sided tape under the ESCs. The ESCs have surface mounted components which will break off after some time if exposed to vibrations. The quad starts acting funny when the caps start falling off.
