It is so awesome how Michael Jackson took this old dance step (taught in dance classes scores of years before Michael was even born) and perfected it, added to it other body movements, emphasized it and made it his own to go down in history with his name & talent stamped on it forever.

One of my girlfriends who took dance did this step on an outdoor sidewalk in tennis shoes... It blew me away so she tried to teach me. I was about 16 in 1961/'62.I don't think anyone even heard of Jackson Five yet. Michael made it his own introducing it to the whole world.

I am a rural kid. The first time I knew Michael was when I read the news of his death in the newspaper. At that time, I didn't know who he is and had never heard his songs. It was not until I went to high school in the county town and started to use the Internet that I realized how outstanding he was. He was really a god-like existence.

Back in May 1983, 6 of us friends were watching the 25 year (my age, too) Motown Anniversary Special, with a VCR hooked up . The show was Great in other ways . But then ... M.J. comes out with the Moonwalk . We were all Gasping ! "WTF was THAT When the whole show was over, we looked at the VHS tape over and over including slow speed . After an hour of that, we were all Still short of breath . Beautiful memories of him and his other family Artists, going back to 1969, when i was 11 .
