The reason people don’t defend you when they’re talking shit about you is because of the bystander affect. They don’t wanna be left out or they’re too scared to do anything about it in fear of losing whatever they have like reputation, lives, etc. Also because they think that someone else is gonna stand up for you, once another person does it then they’ll follow

I told one of my friends that her so called friends were talking shit about her and were trying to avoid her but they still acted like friends with her. I did this because my friend doesn't deserve to be around fake two faced people who are gonna hurt her. Many times we do this to look out for them and make sure it doesnt impact them beforehand.

im that person that says that someone talks sh1t about them because my friends know me as a "neutral ground" to express their frustrations about each other out. it's not necessarily "talking sh1t", but you could call it that. i stay silent and just listen to the person "talking sh1t" because i know we all have issues. i say "oh they said this about you" to resolve a problem with us. no relationship ever truly goes smoothly, they call me mom for this reason since i don't take sides.

it's all about keeping things peaceful and friendly between us since we consider each other family and we even have a mandatory therapy thing in our discord server lol. "get ya free therapy" and "call their sh1t out" for actually saying what their problem is without going through me.

they call me old and sentimental for being so reluctant to delete photos of them on my phone even though im the second oldest in the group because i act like a millennial reposting memes on fb so there's that lol.

I have a friend i love her to death, apparently an ex friend was talking shit abt me behind my back saying how im poor and cant afford to do anything ect. im not like dirt broke(i have a roof over my head and a bit of food in the fridge) but everything I have has been worked for unlike her and i was raised to save and know where my money goes, (needs over wants ykyk) it really pissed my friend off and they got into an argument. My friend told me abt it and i started laughing because i thought she was exaggerating but apparently not (we wernt to close at the time and it was like 9th or 10th grade and i was used to being alone and having people lie to me to get on my good side)
This girl has threatened to fight people over me and im thankful for her. She is a huge part of my life she has helped me out so much and i wish others could have a friend like her.
Moral of the story i dunno friends are unexpected and come at random but true friends are those who stick up for you regardless of your situation (unless its something like...bad bad lmfao)
