These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it.

Shouldn't we consider share buybacks on top of dividends to have a more accurate view on capital returned to shareholders (with share buybacks potentially representing a bigger portion of it today than it was in the 2000s etc)?

There's no point worrying about critics in this case.

As Ben Felix states in one of his videos, dividends are irrelevant. They do not inherently give any advantage to the investor. Rather, dividends often introduce a problem of double taxation, which can be particularly pronounced in Europe. I prefer not to receive them, in general.

Good analysis of where we are today in the market. I think your approach as a value investor is very much correct. It is a market of stocks, not a stock market, there are always bargains to be had, but often they are not in plain sight, particularly when the markets are richly valued. I think a lot has to do with taxation. Here in the UK dividends are taxed at 45% and capital gains at 20%>

Can we just buy 15-30 stocks which has average PE less than 7-10 without going deep into business? Will that be alright? I am from India.
