thank you for this video, i have some canon modern flashes and some vintage cameras of different brands, also a vintage flash, but how do i know what is compatible with what? they all have different hot shoes. Is there an adapter in these cases or shall i just try?

What would I need to use a speedlite on a camera with a cold shoe and pc socket? (Canon 7s rangefinder in my case)

None of my speedlite a have a pc ssocket

Do they sell an attachment that can add a pc socket to modern flashes?

Or do I need to buy yet another flash with a pc socket?

@4:59 Modern flash unit makers exagerate their guide numbers. GNs used to be standardised for a standard lens (40-55mm) . That unit has a GN of 58 (not 60) _only_ at its maximum zoom, for a 105mm lens. But that camera has a 43mm lens so if the flash was fully zoomed only the picture's centre would be fully lit. If you set the unit for a standard lens coverage its GN is only about 40. This is a very muddled video anyway.

Is there a flash out there I can use with my Fujifilm X100F digital camera (with full capabilities) but I can use with my Nikon FM film SLR also? (given no TTL flash capability with that camera but it doesn't support TTL flash anyway)
