[Ricky] "So you know, I did what I do, and created a chart" dude that's just so awesome. As an engineer, your way of approaching these topics is just SO refreshing... so few people do it like you do!

[Ricky] As a software engineer i love what you said at 16:50 about a future potential app store. I'm actually thinking about bluetooth integrated software, that can allow you to install hardware on your call, and run it on the main Tesla platform, with deep integration. Imagine a HUD that actually talks to Tesla's In vehicle APIs via bluetooth. If I got a Model 3, I'd 100% want a HUD.

at 31:20 a tax credit isn't a deduction. Lets say you have a 1000 dollar deduction and you're in the 25% tax bracket, that means you're you'll get a refund of $250. A tax credit is a straight credit. So if you paid $10, 000 in federal taxes, you'll receive a refund of the full $7500. I haven't gotten an EV credit, but I've installed solar. A tax CREDIT >>> Deduction :)

Toyota with a 2.9B Market Cap?! Where did you get this data? They're closer to 190B.

And Honda at 1.8B?!?! This is absolutely non-sense. It's closer to 54B.

I've been a fan for a long time but this makes me doubt any and all "data" you're providing. Along with your opinions. As a data "scientist" you should be really concerned about this mis-information.

Ben, the difference between Level 4 and 5 is as follows:

- Level 4 handles driving in MOST conditions.
- Level 5 handles ALL driving conditions with redundancy.

The Model 3 does have 12V "cigarette lighter" type socket in the armrest. I saw it when I test drove the Model 3 here in San Diego recently.

Maybe another spin on why these 'cheap' cars are being traded in: Tesla is a tech company and Honda Civic et al. are the type of cars that young techies could afford straight out of college/university. I think a big buyer section is technophiles that have had decent jobs over the past years and can now afford a better car. (Though I'm certain the buyer base will broaden beyond techies once they show the car to their friends and extended families)

[Ricky] From a data presentation perspective, the growth chart you show at 8:58 would be better as raw numbers. Because clearly 2012 was a gang busters year. But your graph makes it seem like 2013 was a bad year, when actually it was just a little better than 2013. % difference graphs are definitely tricky

Wow. Two days old, and this video is already like, 100 years ago. No fault of you, Ben. Things are moving fast!

Elon is saying he wants to take Tesla and make it private. Make a video on that. He has had enough of the stock market. And all the short shorts, Stay alert to his next big business move. This will be massive if he can pull this off..
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤣👍

Hey Ben, what do you think about the guy from e for electric buying a hybrid vs a EV? Thoughts on what he says more ppl will buy hybrids over Ev’s over the next 10 years?

the 12 v "cigarette lighter" outlet is in the center console, and you get a tax credit which is much better than a tax write off. You actually get a check from the IRS for 7500.00 after your taxes are paid. This would be the same as making over 10, 000 extra for those in higher tax brackets

Not sure if I should ask you or Gleam, but people are using my link for the Signature Wall Charger giveaway, but I'm not getting credit for it.
By the way, even though you don't need the charger it is damn nice of you to give it away.

@Ben I know you don't invest in any public companies, would you invest in TESLA if they were a Private Company?

Ben, aside from the trade in report, the chart you show really seems more of a car buying trend (2007-2011 ~ 2012-2017) with economy being more the driving factor and nothing to do with electric cars. The model 3 can't even be taken into account for these years. I don't think we can look at Tesla/electric car buying impact until there are enough electric cars to overlay on the chart.

Regarding the car wash, put the car in "towing mode" to prevent it from going out of neutral.

Loved your statement that this is a ‘Honda Civic moment’ vs an ‘Apple moment’ meaning that the middle and upper middle-class will be the ones purchasing Teslas.. great analogy!!

Turns out our insurancers require a LoJack or tracking device, which seems weird considering the hardware in a model S

I currently have a Leaf & routinely leave my A/C on...for my dog... As it's 85+degrees in Cda Idaho... while in stores & at the gym... Just put it in park and lock it... Surprised this isn't sold as a great feature for dog lovers

Funny how Elon recently said full set driving would happen in 18 months. 10+ years is a big difference. We’ll see who’s right.
