Our tax system is absolutely stupid. The IRS knows what we owe them, yet they make us figure out what we owe and punish us for not being correct. We’re one of only like two developed countries that do it this way. Imagine any other industry working this way. Go to a restaurant and when the bill comes due, they ask you how much you owe and charge you more for being wrong.
