Zeiss Ikon Nettax : Camera Review

A review of the Zeiss Ikon Nettax Camera from the late 1950's.
It's essentially a Zeiss Ikon Nettar with an Uncoupled Selenium Cell light meter.
It takes 6X6 (2 1/4 X 2 1/4) images on 120 roll film.

This camera is in great condition and is a joy to use.

Thank you for a great video on this camera... I recently purchased a similar Zeiss Ikon... now I know how to use the uncoupled selenium cell light meter....I have been using an app on my phone. That is very useful to know. Plus the tip about the snapshot mode or red dot setting will be useful. Just shot 2 rolls of film so far and yet to be developed so looking forward to seeing if I have the focus and light metered correctly.

The Early Days of Photography was 1955? That's the Golden Age.

Please try French Pierrat Drepy HQ folder with coated Drestar (Tessar) type of lens.

Hello Reluctant Photographer, thanks for posting this very nice video on a unique film camera. There are numerous videos on just about any topic, but it was very nice to find one, without all the immature hype, music, and irrelevant content. These little Zeiss cameras are nothing short of amazing. I would like to find this same model Zeiss Ikon Nettax 6x6. A month ago, I found one on eBay (Zeiss Ikon Nettax 6X6, 517/16), that was untested, but looked to be in good shape. It does not have a meter, or the view finder red exposure indicator, or the self timer. It does, however have the "Snap Shot" mode, you mention in your video. I was wondering what those red dots on the dials were indicating. I have shot a roll, but have not yet developed the film. Once developed, and the film is free of light leak marks, I intend to remove the cover, to clean the inside of the view finder, and tend to any possible light leak locations. Also intend to test the PC sync port once I get my hands on a PC sync cable. If I can find a Nettax similar to yours, or even a 6x9 or 6x4.5. Thanks again, very nice little cameras.
