It is a really great experience but you know that you shouldn't pet them? Nor touch them. It may put the whale in danger. By doing this you teach the whale that boats and human touch are safe, which may cause them and their calfs trouble in future. They can get accidentally too close to a big boat and get injured or worse from its propeller. Also by touching them you may pass diseases on them(even if you dont suffer from any) that are fatal for them as they have never encourage them. It is like with a new born baby, you cant touch them as you want. There are some hygiene rules.

So please try to restrain your self from doing so, I and many whales will be really thankful.
