Greyghost, We are a completely different company than Tightlinesflyfishing. That said, they have an excellent, well stocked shop, especially if you are a spey guy. They are now on Rt. 46 in Parsippany, NJ and have Google map directions on their website. Definitely worth a stop on your way through. Tell them Tightline Productions says hello.

Thanks Tim and Matt, great dubbing mix. That's a spot on match from the Iso I've seen. The extended body instruction was excellent, sliding the thread off his finger as he wrapped up the tail, glad I noticed it.

My guess is that it's the type of deer body hair you're using. If you can, find something a little less hollow with thinner hairs. The stuff intended for spinning deer hair bodies really won't work because it wants to flare and spin all over the place.

You also might try using less thread tension while posting the wings. More like collecting wraps.

Hope this helps.

Very nice. Similar to the way I tie detached mayfly bodies. It's important to use the ring finger, as he does, to catch the thread and bobbin and move them forward on your way around the body. Love the deer hair wings.

Most of our videos are of trout flies with the exception of the saltwater flies of course. Many however can be adapted to be more appropriate for other species, such as bass, bluegill and pike.

This looks an awful lot like Matt's Damselfly pattern!
