Thanks for watching! 😊 Please give this video a like if you found it helpful. 👍

Some AWS services/tools that involve code: AWS Lambda, AWS CDK, AWS CodePipeline.

If you currently don't know a programming language, don't let that stop you from starting your cloud learning journey / becoming a Solutions Architect! You can fill in the gaps and learn on-the-job.

Thanks Lucy. You don’t know how many applications I skipped over because it said I need coding skills and I just decided not to apply for the job.

I actually learned cloud computing AWS first just out of interest 😂. Then I couldn’t stop obsessing over it. Then I learned coding, general software development, and then data science/ML/AI. I actually work in the biopharmaceutical industry xD. I just love Lucy! Her contents the best around in terms of best learning resources, Quality, and just drive. It’s so inspiring!! Awesome content as usual!! 🙂

Honestly, quite surprised with the answer. Even with all the services coding is still the core and glues all the pieces together. And there is quite a big difference between theory and practice after all

Hey Lucy! I'm a fellow L5 Amazonian. This is a great channel!!! I would love a video where you go through salaries at AWS for entry levels and for each promotion. Would be interesting to compare to corporate roles in Amazon. Is the pay structure the same 🤔. Would also be useful for recent grads/interns.

Oh Lucy, how God has used you to help my cloud journey in just 2 months that I came across your channel. Thanks.

Thank you Lucky for taking your time to answer this question. Surprisingly enough, I've been trying to find out an answer to the question ever since I started my journey in the cloud. God bless you❤

If you have a cloud support engineer, devops role.. then learning json, yaml, bash, and powershell is very useful. Being a solutions architect might not go deep into the actual deployment and sysadmin type tasks, which is the heart of getting a clients application/environment manageable, scalable/resilient, and helps when building out CI/CD through cloudformation/puppet/codepipline/lambda, etc.

It takes years of hard work to earn the respect of an architect. Paper skills are good but it takes a lot of knowledge and understanding of systems to have the courage and confidence to stand by your design and recommendations. Architecting in AWS is 10 percent about using aws and 90 percent about how your system will be built. You need a strong background in software engineering and systems design to an architect in general. Of course you can be nice and cute in front of customers and understand nothing about the systems they are trying to deploy.

Thank you. I'm just starting my foray into obtaining an AWS certs and this was by far my biggest concern.

As a former SA at AWS the short answer is Yes. AWS provides APIs. while you can have experience as a technical architect in providing guidance the clearest path to success is actually using the product. This includes programming against the APIs to assist your customers.

Hi Lucy, hope you are doing great. Something on the compensation structure for these associate/prof level SA jobs would be highly appreciated, if you do get the time.

Hi Lucy, your videos are awesome. I was wondering - What's the difference between a Solutions Architect and a Customer Solution Manager (CSM) at AWS?

I would apply for the A2C program. It’s L4 and have easier interviews questions. Make sure you know your LPs by heart

Thank you Mam, You made my Day, I was in a dilemma to take up the Architect role, but after seeing your video I am confident of being a Cloud Architect. :)

You just lifted a huge weight off my shoulder omfg I can't thank you enough for this video. I'm a CS student striving to get AWS certified and my goal is to become a cloud engineer. I graduate after this fall and my coding skills are not strong, and I just started acloud guru to get certified by the time I graduate. Thank you again for this clarifying video!

Hi Lucy,
How should we apply for SA in Amazon.
I mean how is the recruitment process if you could make one video on that.
Highly appreciated😊!!
