I want to salute Korg for this Power Tube Reactor - the koncept is such a missing piece in the guitar pedal world - there are countless preamp pedals, and very very few pedals that can provide realistic analog emulated power amp grit and sag.

Korg therefore, is on to something here - one of the first more simple pedals specifically aiming for power amp distortion - and I want to get this - hopefully able to place it after one of my many preamp pedals, and get a more realistic sound on lower volumes or direct.

I wish many more pedal-manufacturers would work on concepts like this, and have wondered why only simple diode-clipping preamp pedals are released. Only Origin Effects and a few others have made pedals providing proper analog emulated power amp effects.

So thanks Korg - this is a step in the right direction !

This is by far the BEST pedal I ever owned. For bass and guitar it sounds killer. Interestingly, sounds better with digital amps than tubes.
Make your tone some justice and get this pedal.

Hello, if used with a preamp, for example, with the vox mystic edge, would I place de Korg between the guitar and the preamp or after the preamp (as a power amp would be)?

Cool idea, some sort of power amp simulation with line level output and a lot of obviously useful sound tweaking options. Place the OD-S in front - or even two for two different channels - and a speaker sim behind and you have a serious, fully customizable, complete amp tone at mixer/pa level, also usable for direct recording or for feeding the aux input of your computer monitors at room level.

I just wanted to order a custom low watt tube power amp from a tube amp builder, whom I know a little and also wanted to have a line level output alternatively to the speaker output, taken after the output transformer, but even a simple 6V6 or EL84 power amp would be much more expensive than this kit, also bigger due to the two necessary transformers, so most probably I will try this one first.

The demo tones sound really good.

Good preamps (with or without tubes) you meanwhile get easily, but separate poweramps usually only are the typical 1990's stereo poweramps with too much power or are tubeless.

I just ordered myself a Korg OD-S overdrive/ preamp pedal and if it sounds, as I hope, the TR-S most probably will follow, I think.

I only had not experience with nutubes up to now, so I first want to check, if they sound and behave tubeish enough for my taste.

Nevertheless the concept of this product range is really excellent and innovative.

What's the point of putting three pots under a rubber flap? Does that make you feel like you're "hacking" or something?

There's something very wrong with your guitar and amp or their settings if it's as dead as that dry signal you demonstrate.
One could be forgiven for suspecting it's been deliberately sabotaged in order to let the pedal rescue it.

It’s like someone looked in my brain and found all the boxes to tick to make me want another drive pedal: Nutube: ✓; Dry blend knob: ✓; Sag knob: ✓. One miss, though: Enclosure with the footprint of a Boss compact pedal.
