Todd and Ryan believe that the potential of new tools, such as ChatGPT apps, to replace the role of a scrum master in facilitating and guiding teams is limited. Ryan, who has been working with ChatGPT, believes that while the AI-powered tool is impressive, it is not yet advanced enough to fully take over the role of a human scrum master. He also thinks that the interactions and collaborations between team members are essential and cannot be fully automated. Todd agrees and states that tools cannot replace the experience, intuition, EQ, and all that human scrum masters possess. They suggest that these tools can be used as assistive technology, but they cannot replace the role of a scrum master. They also give an analogy of a grand master chess player using an engine to calculate moves but still requiring human understanding and decision-making abilities. Overall, Todd and Ryan believe that the job of a scrum master is safe from ChatGPT or other similar tools for now.

Agree, there are still plenty of limitations around what a human can do that chatGPT can't, however it is great to assist you and give you fresh ideas.

So as a scrum master I laugh when I see people( fellow scrum
Masters) nervous about ChatGPT replacing them…what a scrum master does is beyond basic facilitation …It’s more human interaction, being able to read a silent room, motivating and helping skilled team mates utilize their full potential, it’s many more things beyond A.I …I do so many things as a scrum master that can’t be typed on Google or GhatGPT for answers ….Only a person who really doesn’t understand what a ScrumMaster really does would think ChatGPT can replace Scrum masters

A Scrum Master will not lose their job because of ChatGPT. A Scrum Master will lose their job because another Scrum Master using ChatGPT.

It's garbage in and garbage out still. If you can feed it the right things, and then check the output it's very useful.

My thought is that if development completely shift to AI, there will be a need for an agile team.

I think ChatGPT may be better than 99% of the so called Scrum Masters out there who have no idea about Scrum😅
