Flying aboard a Classic is one of those things you don't usually hear about, the fact that it's actually working is a miracle

Great plane my father used to be a commander in one of those, I pretty much grew up inside these planes. AN-12 and AN-26 aswell.

Flew in one of these to Sofia v.v.
a very long time ago.
Outward ok, return flight had to land in Dusseldorf as the plane had "technical problems".
Good old turbo prop.

Fun fact:

The North Korean Air Force still uses this, It’s it’s most advanced bomber.(If they actually fly)

If this IL-76 is based out of the US, it is currently sitting at Sawyer Internatial Airport in Wisconsin, where it hasn't been touched for a couple of years. Apparently, some business guy bought it, flew it into Sun and Fun, and after that, it flew it into Sawyer International, where it has been raking up parking fees. Around ($250, 000) worth of fees. Nobody has touched it in a very long time.

Decades ago we used to visit Russian aircraft at TFS airport while on shift. Crews would show us the aircraft sometimes, generally, they were in a very bad state. I remember once, the aircraft actually had a ragged hole due to corrosion, when asking the pilot he said no problem, double hull and the inner holds the pressurizartion, don't remember the aircraft type on that ocassion...
