Hello everyone, just like back in the Three Houses days, I decided to make a class guide for this game. The flexibility and detail in the classes and skills is less complex, but I figured I'd cover them all anyways and show you the growths while discussing the skills. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Just a couple corrections, because you guys are great at point things out to me in the comments:
1- I totally messed up, Martial Master DOES have Staff access but not Tome access, so yeah that changes things, it's more useful than I gave it credit for and that's entirely my bad.
2- I was mentioning being in the right base class to get into an advanced class as just a general rule this game has. Overall, I think promoting a unit in whatever base class they're in and THEN second sealing to the class you want is a better idea UNLESS you're Jean.

I'm still mad that we didn't get an advanced class for thieves, Assassins were always my favorite in 7 because the animations were so good 😭

Fists aren't meant to compare damage wise. It's an EXTRA perk added onto healers, giving them more utility as they can break and even finish off enemies as needed

Martial Masters niche is being the only advanced class with the Qi Adept type to use Chain Guard. Between that and staves they're meant as more of a utility class than a combat oriented one.

2:56 Leif also doesn’t have magic proficiencies, which you need Celica or Micaiah for. Big heads up for people though, if you do want to switch into a magic class, such as Anna, it is super pivotal to do this immediately

Unless I'm mistaken, you can go into an advanced class and second seal into another to if you have the proficiencies.

Fun Fact: Thieves still have the ability to open doors without breaking them. kinda niche use but they still have some of those old thief utilities of old.

Just as a tip, you can scale up pixel art better by using "nearest neighbor" options in software. It' prevents that fuzzy effect from happening.

Yessss let’s do unique classes! I’ve been getting a lot out of Alcryst’s and Céline‘s personal class skills

Class changing your base class is sub-optimal for the majority of characters because of how second seals work. Unless you are at level 1 when you second seal your base class or just in a class that is wholly unsuited for the unit (Anna) you are much better off getting to level 10 and promoting into an advanced class and then second sealing over. Any advanced class can second seal into another advanced class at any time provided you have the requisite proficiency. If you change your base class you have to get all the way back to level 10 before being able to promote into your desired advanced class. Only 6 characters join more than 5 levels away from promotion and by the time you get second seals they all will either, likely be able to promote, or basically be non-viable due to the difficulty scaling of skirmishes short of Micaiah/Byleth engage ring abuse.

Small advantage for Mage/Sage. They ignore enemy terrain bonuses like in Shadows of Valentia. This can help with some bosses. Also helps when thieves (or any covert unit) is on a forest tile. I actually had a little trouble at the start of Tiki’s paralogue with the thieves in the forests. Citrinne helped quite a bit with that.

I actually had my martial monk Framme get extremely high attack stats and was easily killing non-armored units solo. She may have just been blessed this run but she was hitting 20x4 easily

Panette can be a pretty good Halberdier. She's tied with the lowest speed growth so she'll surely appreciate being able to have a mechanism to attack twice and she is also tied with the highest strength so she'll do a hell of a lot of damage on each hit.

Covering the unique classes would be really useful because one of the main choices players will be making is, "Do I go into this unit's unique promotion or is something else better?"
It's pretty hard to make that call if you don't have any information on the unique classes so, *yes, please, * do make a video on the unique classes and how the stack up to generic unit options for each unit where applicable.
For example, do you stick with Alear's divine dragon class to gain benefits with emblem rings not other unit in the game has access to, or is it better to make her into a griffin knight for the extra movement and utility like what Iced Coffee likes to do?

Maftial Master is primarily a healer that's also a Qi Adept, so when it isn't healing it can chain guard and then when they have been damaged from the chain guard they can heal an ally and themselves at the same time so the class skill has pretty good synergy with that. Also, arts are pretty good with Eirika's Lunar Brace(+) and by combining that with Alacrity(++) and the A rank Flashing Fist art can net you a good deal of damage from a support class + the added benefit och being able to break tomes, knives and bows. Also, it being a Qi Adept also synergizes well with some emblems, for example, Lyn has Astra storm which will get guaranteed breaks, Leif as he gives a guaranteed break on top of (hopefully) killing a healthbar, Lucina as it makes Bonded Shield 100% consistent and Micaiah as a niche where Great Sacrifice then removes penalties as well

EDIT: Also, what did you mean by 1. Martial Master having access to magic? It doesn't. And what about it not having staff utility?? It literally has A rank base on units without innate Staff rank

EDIT 2: Mixed the skills up, it makes great use of Micaiah's Live to Serve-like skill, not its class skill. Defuse healer or whatever it is called is pretty situational

Appreciate your overview. Any chance you could go over the unique classes? Would like to hear your thoughts on those as well.

Outside of Anna who would like to take advantage of Mage's 7 base magic (got that number from serenes forest) ASAP I'd recommend against immediately second sealing to another base class. The reason being you can just use a master seal to promote then immediately second seal to the class you actually want (given proper profeciences) to be in without having to get to level 10 again. This uses the same amount of seals regardless btw. The only difference is in which order you use them.

Martial Master and High Priest have one super niche case that makes them really good alternative classes for Alear. Fortify recharges engage meter per ally healed so if you heal 5 allies with Alear as a High Priest or Martial Master you can recharge spoiler mode in a single turn so your carry can continue their rampage. Granted this strategy can also be done with Micaiah equipped to Alear and in the Divine Dragon class, it lowers the threshold to four allies that need to be healed.

How do you reliably have 5 allies that can be healed at once? Mage knight or sages with Resonance inherited from Celica.

Also Sages aren't inherently worse than mage knights, sages are what you second seal your healers to as you aren't really going to be needing all that many A or S rank staff users. The utility offered from staffs and the higher magic growth is meant to off set the fragility of sage. Also, with Canter + Olwen S rank ring, you can do sage ball strats and actually get use out of the passive.

This isn't really relevant to the video but I've found micaiah is great for leveling characters who are squishy, her map wide heal seems to give the user exp for every person healed.

Man, I hear some people say Wolf Knight is a weak class meanwhile my Merrin hard carried me through fixed maddening. She's just such a beast. Dodgy enough to survive most everything while having the mobility to wreck havoc on enemy formations.
