You are the only person on You Tube I actually find helpful, like you are genuinely wanting to help rather than just earn views like Think Media or any other channels that make views by people wanting more views. I love listening to you even when it's not just to learn how to improve my you-tubing, but to learn different ways of looking at things so thank you, Katie. So massive like, I wish I could give more likes. I watched it twice. And will watch it again.

I'm a public speaking professor, and the "speaking to one viewer" concept is something I try to teach to my students in every class. Some get it. Others just don't, no matter how many times I say it. The funny thing is that when you said this in your video, I just realized that I've kind of forgotten that in my own videos. That's something I'll be focusing on again, and it's ironic considering how many times I say it to my students.

Katie thank you for this. I can’t tell you how discouraging it is to constantly put out vlogs and wonder why they aren’t getting views. To top it off I watch these YouTube educators who pretty much all say “Stop making vlogs cause nobody cares.” Your video makes me feel seen!

Katie you might never see this, but I watched this video when it first came out and taking your advice completely transformed my vlogs. I've doubled the growth of my channel in 3 months and have way better engagement all thanks to you!! Don't stop making videos they are so great! ❤

I really loved your intro to the "story format" for vlogs... I'm definitely going to research more into this but would love to see more in-depth videos from you with tips on how to approach this.

감사합니다 도움이 많이 됐어요 :)

- not speaking to your audience in a personal way : 청중에게 개인적인 방식으로 말하지 않는 것
- always saying "and then" instead of "but" or "therefore” : 항상 "그러나"나 "therefore" 대신 "그리고"라고 말합니다.
이거했고, 이거했고, 이거했고 ㄴㄴ 하지만! 그래서! 그렇기때문에! 그랬더니! 이런걸 써서 그날의 스토리텔링을 하라.
- telling and not show : 말로만 하지말고 보여줘라

I don’t vlog but I do make videos and every single one flops. 😂 I finally came to terms with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do start every video with “hey guys” tho 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I will take your advice to heart. ❤ Thanks for the tips.🙏🏻

This is the first video that talks about "how to" with vlogs that genuinely showed me where I'm going wrong and helped me.
I'll keep all these tips in mind FOR SURE. thank you sm for this ♡

The timing of this couldn’t be more perfect. I am coming out of being bedridden/housebound, for a near decade — while surviving CA’s most deadly and destructive “wildfire, ” in Paradise. I just moved back to Paradise, to clean up my grandmother’s property, (as we just had to place her in memory care, when her companion died in May) and plan to live in her motorhome, and maintain her property (until the town kicks people off their own property, whom aren’t building, at the end of April) — being I am, technically, homeless.

I’d like to film/Vlog around Paradise, and show people what such a resilient town and community is going through, four years later (the anniversary was Nov. 8th) — as well as how I am getting back on my feet; both, from being removed from society, for so long, as well as after losing my home and not able to go back to the work I, once, knew (I was a hairstylist in Hollywood, before I fell ill).

Today I intended to film me driving my (grandmother’s/now my) truck, and learning how to back up her cargo trailers — as to better prepare her property, for easy escape routes, in case any other devastation occurs.

Though, also, I would love to travel — so, I am utilizing this experience, as to better prepare me for living on the road. So, I am super grateful for the experience — and everything, which, has come with it.

Your videos couldn’t have began showing up in my feed (last week or so), at a better time.

Thank you, for making such supportive videos.

Katie, I LOVE tip #2 and how you explained it (verbally and visually). I’ll keep this in mind when creating content. I also agree with tip #1. It’s better to speak to your audience as an individual person instead of a group of people.

“There isn’t a you guys just yet”😂 I can hear the hesitation to try not to hurt our feelings and it’s so funny because yes I say this like I get a 1000 views per vlog lol

Katie you are a goldmine! I've always known since the beginning that my storytelling would be what I needed to work on the most. I love vlogging and I love sharing my experience of motherhood through my lens of vulnerability and failing a lot! But telling my story in a way that's captivating is hard for me. I've watched videos on how to be a better vlogger or why people aren't watching you and so on and of course, everyone mentioned storytelling but did not go in-depth on what it means to be a great story teller! You have helped me see it clearer and I thank you so much! 😍

I find your information extremely helpful and it could apply to more than just vlogging. I love how you give examples and practical applications that your competitors don't give much of. I think this is your strongest asset. A big thanks to you.

Thankyou Katie this is what I wanna know. I have been struggling for so long. I put so much of energy and effort to make vlog but nobody sees it. I think there are more depth on this topic like how you edit and expose to your audiences. That’s also compelling I believe. Like not sitting on 🪑 for whole video. I saw you moving one place to another and the way how you delivered the dialogues is so matching depending on the importance of those stories you wanna express. Keep sharing your experience. Loved watching your videos.

It’s not often a video has me walking away feeling like I legitimately learned something new, let alone many things. I never comment on anything and I’m only like halfway through the video and just had to hop on my phone to come comment and say THANK YOU!! This is so so so helpful!!

This was so helpful! I just took a week off from creating vlogs bc I was feeling discouraged and burnt out. This was very encouraging 🥰

KATIE!!! This was so dope. I've been saying the whole refer to the audience in second person thing for a minute now, and legit thought NO ONE ELSE thought like this as well haha Nice to see I'm not alone in that line of thinking. Also, totally did not know you were Canadian/Torontonian as well 🤯 Def subscribed, and look forward to watching more of your content 🙌🏽

Katie you are amazing! Your videos always give instead of just want to get likes! You truly teach and give value without expecting anything in return except for your watchers to succeed. You are a rare jewel, keep shining!! Thank you Katie!

This is definitely one of the most helpful videos I’ve seen about how to get better at telling stories with vlogging. Thank you so much 🥳
