This Disease Turns Muscles into Bones!

Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva is a genetic disorder in which your muscles slowly turn into bones. Symptoms of FOP can be seen in childhood starting with the neck and shoulders. The disease then proceeds down into the limbs. Patients may feel difficulty in speaking and eating. As the extra bones may restrict the lungs expansion.

Any injury or trauma to the muscles can be deadly. It can accelerate the bone formation in the injured area. There is no effective treatment for FOP. FOP is rare; occurring in only 1 in 2 million people.

This has to be worst than a brain tumor to be honest, because with a brain tumor, you slowly loose your conciousness little by little until... well you know. But this disease on the other hand is worse as having your muscles get converted into bones may not only feel discomforting but also really painful.

Is it just me or do those bones make me mallot-happy, lol. All jokes aside, I feel so bad for those who have this horrible condition. I hope that in the oh so, near future that those disease will have a cure to combat it's deadlines.
