Selene Lucent I call, Gorgonion Selene,
Night-appearing, Torch-bearer,
Effulgent, Luminous, Double-faceted Goddess,
Silver-lighted, Incandescent Glare,
Glowing Daemon of the Night,
Gold-circled Glimmering,
Ethereal Earth, Shown from the Sky,
Having in three sides the Flame’s Untiring Pyre.

Hear, Goddess Queen, Diffusing Silver Light,
Bull-horned Selene, throught the Heavens You ride,
Walking in the Gloom of the Night, Air-wandering,
Dwelling in the Realms of the Obscure,
with Circuit Wide Night's Torch extending,
Kore with Stars Surrounded,
Increasing and Decreasing,
Female and Male,
Light-bringing, Lover of Horses, Mother of Time,
Fruit- yielding Nymph, whose Amber Orb makes Night's reflected Noon
Wakeful, All-seeing Power
Spirit Bedecked with Starry Shine,
Lover of Vigilance, the Foe of strife, in Peace rejoicing and a Prudent Life.

“When out of Darkness first She comes Anew,
She shows her Face increasing Fair and Full
And when She reaches once her Brightest Sheen,
Again She wastes away and comes to naught.”

Mighty Lamp of Night,
You, Who give to all Nature’s works their destined end,
Joy-giver, Ornament and Statue of the Night,
Queen of the Stars, Dressed with flowing radiant veils,
Wandering in curves, Holder of all Knowledge
Come, Merry and Blessed Goddess, Rich in Stars,
Bright Gleam, with Chaste and Splendid Light,
Shine on these Sacred Rites with Prosperous Rays
And pleased accept the suppliants’ mystic praise.

Hail, Bright-throned Selene!
Multiformed, Multi-tangled, Much-wandering, Changeful,
Unspoken Ruler,
Selene with three names, Leader Bull-faced, Roaring during the dark hours,
Hail White-armed Goddess, Far-beaming,
Otherworldly Roaming Light, next to the Earth,
Always Focused on the Radiance of Sun Blaze.
