Paris Olympics 2024: Italian boxer abandons bout in 46 seconds against 'biological male' | WION

A huge controversy has erupted at the Paris Olympics. Italian boxer Angela Carini has quit her bout against Algeria's Imane Khelif in 46 seconds in the Women's 66 kg category. Khelif is in the spotlight after she was disqualified at the 2023 World Championship over a failed gender test with many against her participation in the women's event and deeming her a 'biological male'. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has also reacted to the row and said that the fight was not on equal footing.

Biological men's bodies are built differently, just as biologically female bodies are built differently. If transgender athletes wish to compete, then we should have a separate transgender League because they are not physically the same
