"The Netflix Series “Onmyoji” starts streaming November 28, 2023, only on Netflix.

The immortal Heian-period supernatural mystery novels by Baku Yumemakura have been adapted into manga, live-action film and theatrical stage performances — and now, it has been adapted into an anime series for the first time.

Watch the credit-less ending sequence made mellow with an ending theme song by ao, an up-and-coming musical artist of the next generation.

STORY
Yearning, obsession, burning desire…
When people’s uncontrollable emotions begin to overflow, that is when they become demons.

In prosperous ancient Kyoto, court musician Minamoto Hiromasa, grandson of Emperor Daigo, visits the residence of the official onmyoji — the yin-yang diviners — in hopes of unraveling the mysteries of the demons that disturb the city. While there, he is introduced to a man perfectly suited for untangling these enigmas: the great onmyoji Abe Seimei, a man cloaked in an otherworldly aura. Hiromasa is vexed by Seimei’s lack of interest in the mundane world and his reluctance to help, but the two of them confront the demons at the cause of the incidents. They eventually find the onmyoji Ashiya Doman, who lurks in the shadows of the demons. Seimei and Hiromasa are joined by Hiromasa’s flute teacher Imperial Prince Atsumi, the emperor’s onmyoji Kamo Yasunori, and Lady Tsuyuko, who comes to accompany them as a result of a particular case. As their emotions intertwine like threads, will Seimei and Hiromasa be able to restore peace to the capital?

The ordeal of these mismatched friends destined to share the same fate begins now.

The animation and music are gorgeous. I really loved this bromance stuffs as well. If there is a season 2, I hope that the quality remained constant

I LOVE this anime! I love period drama anime, but Heian era is rarely done (I've only watched Otogi Zoshi for a Heian era anime two years ago, totally recommended btw!), hence I love Onmyoji! The bromance is done well too!

It's nice to see that even though Saimei and Ashiya aren't that close she shows up in the sequence. Kinda showcases that they are both lonely.

The song he made ao (I knew it from this Ending) is very beautiful as is the animation, here is the description of the Ending.

This ED Video showing the precious daily life of “Heian's bumpy companion” Abe Seimei and Minamoto Hiromasa!

Seimei, who is supposed to be a loner and not interested in other people, gradually opens up to him after meeting the kind-hearted Hiromasa.

Additionally, ED's song "kioku" by 17-year-old singer ao adds fleeting color to the story.

Needs Season 2. The god they summoned found out about the Decoy, and will seek the real Seimei. It will continue casting misfortune upon the land until Seimei presents himself.

In the end the exchange would be the long established friendship Seimei had attained. That would suffice. Deities are rather strange with what they think is equivalent. Like FMAB

I'm so mad on netflix that finding the flute song is that hard.. Its the only way to find it is to scrolling through episodes, but never can experience it clean in full extent?
