Seems like not many people complaining about this years I/O which is great! But those who are just search the first I/O that was held in 2008 it was completely aimed at developers and that's was I/O is for. Yes they didn't announce any new hardware or software however that doesn't rule out they won't announce it later on in the year at their next event. More time for them to develop means better products, so just be patient.

Think of it this way, Google now has an additional 6 months to make Key Lime Pie even more amazing, and with it the Nexus 5, Nexus 8, and Nexus 11.

A lot! Refreshed all their products - many with brand new designs (super slim retina MacBooks, iPhone 5, super slim iMac, new Mac Mini, new iPods, new iPad and iPad Mini and loads more cool things).
That's what Apple does - make great new products, and they're continuing to do so.

One of the really cool things about Google is that they have a platform like Android and their web services yet they still continue to provide support for iOS. I really wish more companies would do that. I understand the economic and financial reasons of why things are the way they are, but still...

it came out 6 months ago, in a world in which LTE is on the rise, google needed to compete with the HTC one and S4, instead they copped out and took the easy way by just adding there software to the S4.

Yes, it has, their are differences such as wallpapers that were added and the ability to take a photo from the lock screen. You also have the notification bar, and the optional change with where the notifications pop up from. There are changes, they are just a lot more subtle that Android. Obviously you don't need to change the operating system yearly to sell phones, seeing as people still buy apple devices. Plus their probably going to change it this year with I.OS 7, Slightly.

Anyone that is concerned about Google not announcing a new nexus phone or android update, I wouldn't worry. This isn't the first time they've done this. In 2011, they announced Android 4.0 ICS and the Galaxy Nexus in October.
