Kim Kardashian West Hosts SNL
While Kanye West is busy selling one of his Wyoming houses for $11 million, Kim Kardashian West hosted SNL last week and viewers are still talking about it. Kim Kardashian made a number of jokes and participated in many skits that poked fun at herself and her family. Her mom, Kris and her sister, Khloe made cameos in the SNL episode. Kim Kardashian also worked alongside Chris Rock, John Cena, Jesse Williams, Pete Davidson, and more to accomplish her SNL performance, which is now trending on YouTube as well.
#DaveChpppelle Trended On Twitter
Dave Chappelle has been trending on Twitter due to his recent Netflix special ‘The Closer.’ Dave Chappelle has been receiving a lot of backlash from the LGBTQ+ community after a series of jokes that were considered transphobic. He also made jokes about the impact of ‘Cancel Culture’ on society. Many individuals have deemed the special inappropriate and disrespectful and have requested Netflix to take Dave Chappelle’s comedy special off the platform. According to Variety, Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos wrote a memo to current employees that Dave Chappelle is one of the most successful comedians on their platform with his previous comedy special, ‘Sticks & Stones’ is controversial as well but is also the most-watched comedy special on their streaming platform. They supported his ‘creative freedom’ and likened his special to other controversial Netflix products like ‘Cuties’ and ‘13 Reasons Why.’ Clearly, the comedy special will not be taken down from the platform and Dave Chappelle has yet to make a statement about this latest controversy on social media. He did say at Hollywood’s iconic Hollywood Bowl that if this was what it felt like to be canceled, then he loves it.
Lots of New Music
Many artists have recently announced new music and album release dates. Here are the ones that are trending. Summer Walker announced her sophomore album ‘Still Over It’ will drop November 5th, Taylor Swift bumped her upcoming album ‘Red’ from November 19th to 12th, and Silk Sonic shared their upcoming album ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’ is set for a November 12th release date.
