I don't know how it does with lettuce, but I can guarantee that plastic knife is great for cutting brownies! I worked in assisted living dining and made lots of brownies, and learned a long time ago to always cut them with a plastic knife, even a cheap disposable one works. Fudgy brownies tend to stick to metal knives and get all torn up, where a plastic knife glides right through!

OMG! I came across your videos by accident. You are amazing. For me 60+ years old on disability, it's not always easy to look put together. I learned about "toenail" press on's. Now mine look great. Dollar Tree cooking gadget's are a life saver for me. I need to get some sleep because I have been binge watching your videos, making notes. I have mink eyelashes, eyebrows, and much more. I may be old but I am looking good. Because of you I have a new lease on life! THANK YOU SO You don't know what you have done for me. Life is better because I found your videos.

The lettuce knife is great for cutting in pans that you aren't supposed to use metal on. It won't scratch them.
PS You have the best laugh I've ever heard!

Lettuce knife is to keep the cut edge from browning. The plastic knife really does the job.

Yes it is true that you should use plastic to cut lettuce instead of metal. You get non bruised lettuce that way.

Make popcorn in microwave with a brown paper lunch bag. Put about 2 t. of jarred popcorn in the bag WITHOUT oil, fold over the bag top and fasten closed with a wooden toothpick. Pop for about 1 1/2 min.. . If you want melted butter or salt pour over, grab to close top and shake. I eat right out of the bag. Super cheap. No clean up. Just toss the bag. Luv ya... you make me smile 🤗

I never knew that about lettuce & plastic knives! Thank you ALL for this little tidbit of info! And frankly, ALL of the gadgets were pretty darn handy!! I eat a lot of mangoes (great source of Vit A), but peeling, trimming, cleaning them is such a pain. What a great little contraption someone created for us! Yay!!!

FINALLY! somebody came up with an answer to slicing cantaloupes! Remember back in the old days when you had to use a knife. What's that? You still need a knife!?

When you want to ripen mango's really fast, put them in a paper bag. Fold down the top of the bag and leave it on your kitchen counter for a day or two. Makes it ripen super fast !

Metal Utensils will brown vegetables faster. The plaster knife is genius. It would work great on avocados too. Because You should never use a metal spoon when making guacamole as it makes the avocado turn brown quicker.

The way you can tell if your cantaloupe is ready is by smelling it, it should smell distinctly like...well, itself. The stronger it smells the sweeter it will be. Sniff it at the store to be sure you are getting a good one.

Here’s a tip for the cantaloupe cutter. After you cut each end off cut it in half between each of those ends. Remove the seeds and lay each half with the biggest cut on the table. It may work better that way. Good luck.

Make sure you buy American garlic. The difference is, that the bottom of the garlic is white it is from China and their fertilizing process is very different. The sewers are not controlled like here. USA garlic is rough on the bottom. Not white. Buy from American farmers.

I have had the salad knife for over 12 years & got it to stop the browning after slicing. I use mine 2-5x per week. Yeah, I am cheap & save on bagged salad.

Yes, it's true about the browning if you use the lettuce knife. I've had one for over 20 years. It never dulls!
