Xiaomi 14 Ultra VS Sony Xperia 1 V | Best Camera Phone of 2024 for Photography | Camera Test

Here it is, the shoot out between these 2 beasts ! On one side the Sony Xperia 1 V ( yes the xperia 1 VI phone is around the corner but as i have explained in my last video, i will not be buying it) and on the other, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, a bit of an unsung hero it would seem, especially in the US where most people have never heard of Xiaomi !!! Which will come on top in this deep dive test comparison ? which is the best camera phone in 2024 ? Which will be crowned camera King? One way to find out !

I think it’s a known fact that Xperias processing (especially in raw) is kept to a bare minimum. And its lack of intense HDR actually helps the photo look more natural and less “phone like” (which can’t be edited off). Xperia is made to replicate an actual mirrorless while Xiaomi is made to be the ‘peak’ of mobile photography. I found this comparison to not do either phones justice in my humble opinion

Very interesting comparation, thank you! I would love to see something similar with VI instead of V, as camera app has been redesigned and maybe the image processing performs different.
In addition, it seemed to me at the first photo comparation there were a 16mm photo on sony side instead of 24mm one, is it possible? If not I didn't understood why 24mm on sony look wider than 23mm on xiaomi.

I think Xiaomi does the same thing as Apple with the RAW files, which is also corrected internally

xiaomi makes kind of dark photos in the shadowed areas, I compared it with basic s23, weird for 1 inch sensor

14 Ultra in 2024 is the closest to a dslr we have reached. The best in hardware and innovation.

With the wide angles you do get a lot of fall off. I have a OnePlus Open and it is much better however if you shoot in high res. Don't know if that may help with the Xiaomi?

Sony, the best experince looking super natural, HDR and clear color. Normally i use only 24-85mm, the tele len not meaning in quality for me.

Sony zoom is terrible. Still using the 5 year old tiny small 1/3.5” sensor. No competition at all with current phones.
