There are hundreds of solutions to protect our planet, but many of these are too expensive and labor intensive to be applied at the necessary scale. Building on lessons from manufacturing — where robotic automation has had wide success in scaling solutions — many have started to explore the efficacy of robotic automation for climate change solutions. These applications range from scaling reforestation with drones to building solar farms with robots. This webinar will discuss specific applications of a machine learning (ML) in the field of robotics for climate applications in conservation, restoration, and climate change mitigation. In particular, we will discuss the application of ML to coral reef monitoring and restoration and ML to enable autonomy within floating seaweed farms.
