"Spit In My Mouth, Look In My Eyes" sounds like actual Alice in Chains lyrics tbh

Absolutely high art. Some people make vapid music about sex and money, but Alice in Chains confronted the real issues. I'll never forget the first time I heard Layne Staley describing the cruelty of drug addiction, which was like an invasive force inside of him that forced his body to convulse violently from the pelvis, and spat in his mouth while looking him right in the eyes. Brutal.

The "your honor I'm a freak bitch" hit SO different

I feel like we talk a lot about Layne as a vocalist but he is really underrated as a songwriter. You can really feel his hunger in this one

this hits even harder when you've never heard WAP

A song about monogamy and true love. Absolutely beautiful

The philosophical depth of this song never ceases to amaze me. That takes a real galaxy brain to write those lyrics!

Poor Layne.

"I do a kegel while it's inside" is probably one of the more iconic deliveries Layne ever did with Alice In Chains.

RIP legend.

This hits especially different when you kinda know the band but never really listened to them, so you're like "This is as real as it gets."

I was expecting Them Bones because the rhythm matches WAP

Idk why the close up on Layne's face makes me laugh so hard 😂

Jokes aside Layne's voice is incredibly hard to recreate and you've done it almost perfectly. Sounds amazing dude. Love it.

The slow close up of Layne with the understanding that he wrote this song about his father's experience in the Vietnam war 🤌

This proves “it’s not what you say, but how you say it.”

Hard to believe this song is about the experience of a Vietnam soldier, such a deep and dark undertone to this one.

Something tells me Layne would have found this absolutely hilarious if he were still with us

This Layne impression is genuinely nothing short of amazing.

Bro this is worth a sub. You can actually sing, its insane. If you opened up sooner on the "yeah" at 1:47, would have been straight up goosebumps. When you get there at the end, and the following line... actually awesome. Keep it up
