Taking a look at the palette and pencil. Warning: I'm pretty cheeky here...it was hot, I wasn't expecting the package to arrive...we all have those days, right?

I am post-menopause, as I am assuming you are, too. Being "fresh" is an everyday experience now. "After menopause, all the filters come off, " is a quote I've been living by.
I bought the palette, and I don't even know why, as with silver/gray hair and blue eyes, orangey tones now look terrible on me, and black is too harsh. They were fine when I was a brunette, but now it's fuchsias, mauves, navy, lavender and purple tones that liven me up.
Sometimes I still just haven't come to terms with my older appearance, I guess. I enjoyed this video!

Hi! I am a promua and working with mature women is one of my most loved jobs. I totally agree with you that this pallete doesn't compliment your appearance. Also I agree with you about colorstory and black.
You certainly don't need my advice but I would let myself to tell you about my favorite shadows for gorgeous woman 50+ I had an experience to work with. They are YSL couture palletes with 5 pans: they all are satins but they perform so good on eyelids with wrinkles, hooded eyes and hot sheen, they blend wonderfully, packaging is truly luxurious and even applicators are useful!
I truly enjoy seeing smile on my clients' faces when they look at the mirror and see that satins smoothed their skin without covering it with thick layer of eyeshadow. Almost no client would be satisfied with grungy rust look accompanied with COOL black (black in Wayne's pallete is cool).

As you underlined: we didn't see a proof that Wayne did makeup on mature women - no photos, videos or even reviews from models. Only words as always.

You did a great job with the first look. Indeed, using the black precludes a trip to the grocery store unless it’s located next to a bar and you’re shopping at 1am. I appreciate your mention about the sole «40+ but under 50 » YTer having received the palette in PR even though, in his promo video, WG stated that mature women were largely being ignored by the industry and so he had designed the palette to be appropriate for mature lids. Money where mouth is..? In a few weeks, this palette will be all but forgotten - Imperial what? - as new ones will get launched. Speaking of, I am quite interested in the Viseart petit pro palettes being launched this week...

I completely agree. Over hyped by WG and other Youtubers who received it as PR. And for someone who claims to be a "professional make up artist", there has not been a single video by WG applying his palette to a model (in contrast to Natasha Denona who always demonstrates her palettes on models and does tutorials). I refused to buy into the hype and I have plenty of really good neutral palettes - ND's Biba and the KKW Classic 1 & 2 palettes (never mind the celebrity, the palettes themselves are are my favourite neutrals. Thank you for an honest review - there are so few of them on YT. And as you say, if it was formulated with 50+ women in mind, why weren't women YT'ers in that age demographic sent it as PR?

Totally agree with you about this also political correctness gone mad whereby no one can criticise a YouTuber or leave a dislike on a video. I have been a subscriber of Wayne Goss since the beginning of YouTube and I've slowly but surely lost respect for him and his reviews. Whilst I'm on a rant I also get p....d off that so many YouTubers do not bother to reply to questions or comments unless they are positive and having smoke blown up their butt. I love your review so much! This was extremely helpful. I’m a sucker for these basic shades but I have so many. I recently decluttered so many palettes (pat McGRATH and Natasha Denona) and I want to be picky when it comes to adding more eyeshadow to my collection because I have accepted that I rarely wear eyeshadow! If I didn’t have shadows I loved that were so similar to this I would probably buy it, but I don’t think it would be a unique addition at this point. Thank you again for your honest review!

I have my "fresh" days too. It's the hot weather, this pandemic, and all the stuff we deal with in our own lives. You were very entertaining though. Did the shadow stay well for several hours or did you wash it off after you filmed? Not buying the palette but curious about the overall quality. Stay safe!

Interesting and candid video! I'm a first time viewer. I agree with your thoughts. Don't see the need for the black and the colors ARE too similar to each other. I was watching videos to try and decide whether to purchase and I have to say I think I'll pass. Maybe I'll wait for his next palette (although it will contain black as well). LOLLL, well you are in a Fresh mood, but you are bluntly right, there is nothing original to this palette or the lipstick that all looks like a variation of the same base...the look he did on himself was not very faltering either, and hooded eyes are a very different animal. the best this palette does is a one shadow look with a line of black in the lashes...as you said nothing we don't have in a 3 dollars palette from the dollar store.
