At minute 5:43, i agree with you. Just because we take the identity of self, does not mean that we are anti-something else or anyone. What's interesting is everyone else in the world does this automatically. When we do it, it seems to be a fear, or disapproval from white people. Our tribe here has dealt with a different psychological beating. More unique than anyone in the world because, they couldn't kill us off. We carry a lot of genetic tags from the abuse of out great great grandparents etc. We have to take the identity of self everyday, or we can slip off and start to feel discouraged and weak. I believe that any black person that subscribes to this "anti-something else belief" has been indoctrinated by white folks, or they are trying to impress white folks.
I also agree with issue with religion. Religion is supposed to correct character or make one a better person. If it does, great. if not, well thats on them. I pay very close attention to folks who bash religion. What i find is that most of them have a religion themselves. Their religion just isint Abrahamic. Although most of the religious bashers have a religion themselves, there is nothing that we can attach to it. No rules, no guidelines, no practice, and we dunno when they transgress. If im a Muslim drinking a Heineken and eating a pulled pork sandwich, anyone in their right mind would say " Hey that dudes a hypocrite, he claims to be muslim but hes drinking and eating swine" From that act alone, you'll know not to trust me. A religious basher usually does whatever he or she wants and finds some ancient information that supports what they do, and chalk it up as spirituality.Burn some sage, drink root juice, put on a ankh and move on to the next one. Many of the people who fought for our tribe here in America subscribed to a Abrahamic religion. Im down with anything thats gonna move us forward.
At minute 16:29, i would like to understand. In his opinion in this day and age, give us a example of a black nationalist. This will help tremendously. Although it can cause conflict, it would help to give a few examples. I personally believe that the examples of a person whom we know to be a "black nationalist" has evolved for the worse in the past 30 years. Like in the 60s and 70s whats a example of a black nationalist? In 2019 whats a example one one? Id like to know what he feels about that. Now, if a vocal"black nationalist" in 2019 is who i think it is then i agree. Most of them have white ideologies and their goal is to ultimately feel white and be able to do the things what white Americans do. We can usually tell by their actions. As soon as Polight got some money, he moved to California got a Bentley and some white ladies. I dunno if Polight is a example of a "black nationalist" to the writer of the article.This is why its important for me to know some examples of people whom he believes are "black nationalist" in 2019.
At around minute 19:00, I believe that a religious person can be a black nationalist. Why couldn't they be? The religion is supposed to correct character. How could the religion cause conflict with the progress of their people? In what way? I dunno. The docile behaviors that people say that Christians present do not come from the religion of Christianity. They come from slavery. Its a personal sickness they suffer from. Walking across a bridge in Selma, singing and getting a ass whipping had nothing to do with Christianity. This is a tactic of a scared slave. I dont think it has something to do with Christianity. Its more of a self hatred issues from slavery/white supremacy. Martin Luther King was Christian when him and his crew carried rifles, and they were Christian when they sang spirituals as white supremacist whipped up on them.

At min 23:00, when it comes to black Americans and religions such as Christianity/Islam. Christianity or the black church to African Americans is as cultural as R&B music and soul food. If you are African-American, and you dont claim to be a Muslim or practice Islam, the culture will make one Christian by default. I often see this in the funerals. I've been to funerals for African-Americans whom i spoke to that totally did not agree with the bible or Christianity, but they were ritualistically buried like a Christian. The home-going services they praised Jesus and sung eye on the sparrow at their funeral. This is because this is a cultural thing. Although many African-American Christians do not read, study or believe the bible, they'll claim Christianity because its a cultural thing for us. But, this topic gets deep.
23:00 I totally disagree with the writer when he says white is right and black is wrong mindset. Thats cultural bullying. Its also being inconsiderate. Here he is taking two groups of people with two totally different experiences and making the starting point and finish line the same to prove his point. You cannot do this with African-Americans. I believe that alone is something that comes from white ideologies. I hear people say these things when they dont want to upset their white friends. We are both human, but we are absolutely not the same. Therefore, we cannot be judged or scrutinized the same. Even God is going to judge us differently.

30:00 In a nutshell he says that black nationalism cannot be effective without some religious form. I understand why one would disagree with that. As you said, you have spirituality. But, the thing here is, good people like you or others who have spirituality, will also have many of the qualities of a good Muslim, a good Christian etc. I understand this from experience. People whom I met that were good, cool people to me; although they may not subscribe to a Abrahamic religion, they always had the qualities of a good Muslim or Christian. This is why, there is never a issue with good people, regardless of belief systems. Key word "good"


36:00 Indeed i agree that this is what this new black nationalism has caused. Its become a elitist situation among black people. It is done incorrectly due to selfishness and what many black people secretly believe to be success. Although they may not say it, success to the majority, even the so called black nationalist is acting, and being and feeling like a white American. Weather they wear a bow tie at a 2, 000 plate NAACP gala, or throw on the dashiki and ankh and speak about egyptian metaphysics. The goal money . I think this happened over time due to seeing the people before us who were sincere about the progress of our people end up broke, and alone. People become scared and discouraged. Therefore, they find another route to take. This being capitalizing off these issues for financial gain. I dunno how i feel about this yet.


I believe that this guy wrote a pretty good article. I kind of think i understand what kind of person he is; but I could be wrong. Its definitely a article in which every word must be paid attention to. Great video!

Awesome presentation my brother! Great explanation on what it truly is to be a Black Nationalist. And today, the idea still lingers however many don't want to NOT HATE white people. This is exactly my problem with parts of the ideology. Thank you for this and I'm definitely sharing this video, among the rest. Peace.
