Introduction to Mapping in QGIS with Dr. Santiago Lopez (8/23/23)

In this workshop, we will learn about common GIS data conceptualizations and models and how to create simple GIS models that could help prioritize, identify, and select areas for conservation using common map overlaying techniques. In the first half of the workshop we will concentrate on getting up to speed with basic terminology and learn key concepts. In the second half, we will work on applied problems and hands-on exercise. We will use the software QGIS during the hands-on portion of the workshop.
