I was born with one kidney. My left kidney is the size of a raisin and dead. I was diagnosed at the age of 2 about 10 years ago. And I got made fun of for years because I couldn’t be crazy like the other kids. But I always wanted to because of my hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, depression and ADD. It’s been an interesting ride but I love my life

Hi Ashley. Thanks for making this video. I had an ultrasound about 2.5 years ago and the sonographer found only one kidney. I was shocked but I had some other stuff going on and I didn't do anything further until recently I spoke with my doctor who confirmed that first test result. Yesterday I had a second ultrasound and again they were unable to image a left kidney. I just came across your video and wanted to thank you and wish you all the best :) Bil

I also just found out as a working adult that I have unilateral renal agenesis! I've been living a low sodium, low meat diet all my life. Had also been consuming coffee 3-5 times a week + alcohol max. twice a month. I'm not very athletic but do light stretches daily. And I'm perfectly healthy! There was never one time where my health dipped which pointed anything wrong with my kidneys. It was only from an incidental discovery during an ultrasound scan from a health checkup that I found out I only had one kidney my entire life. I was in a state of shock and disbelief when I first heard it, but months passed and I think I adjusted well to it! My life hasnt changed much, I'm just more mindful of my diet & coffee/alcohol intake. Most importantly now I must always let my GP know so they know not to prescribe strong medication like NSAIDs ←⚠️‼️

I have also 1 kidney, in my left side and my right one is missing I knew this about 6 or 7 years and I'm healthy. I'm 21 but I just found out that I have ti avoid direct sports and do a diet. I never knew that so I'm lucky to be here .
Know I'm trying to be care full bcos here in Somalia we dont have health care and good health services.
I'm a long time dreamer so I have many big dreams to achieve so i pray to Allah to let me achieve it.

Found out at 35 years of age that I only have a left Kidney. It was a CT scan of the pelvis that revealed this. Some people have a tiny remanent of a kidney but I have an empty space, no plumbing. I had a normal healthy life with good blood work over the years and an active lifestyle. Growing up I did have a sensitivity to food additives such as MSG etc and high sodium foods. Low meat intake and the avoidance of processed foods has done wonders to my health and well being. You'l be fine and now that you know you can incorporate a healthier diet resulting in a better quality of life.

Found out I have no left Kidney at 30 years old :D now 32, I freaked out but now know better and I am all good!

Im 34 and just found out I was born with one kidney. My mind is blown!!! I grew up playing football, boxing drinking and occasionally smoking.

Welcome to the Club of the one Kidney I been Drinking Partying I don't Drink Coffee or Hard Liquor you can drink it but it hits you fast I drink beer for over 17 years smoking good weed eating everything I can eat I can run swim nothing has stop me to have a full life one kidney is not a excuse there's people out there who are 100 years old with one kidney and sometimes is not even from them . You can live a perfectly normal life with one kidney. living with one kidney won't shorten your life expectancy any as so long as you maintain a moderate, heathly, lifestyle. Treat your one kidney's health like you would treat your heart heath and you will live a long life.

I’m 13 and I found out that I was born with unilateral renal agnesis when I was 9. I was also born with extra vertebrae so I have congenital scoliosis and plagiocephaly.

My Bf was born with one kidney, he is facing a lot of problem.. He was diagnosed with one kidney when he was 13 now he is 19 .. he was having dialysis for last 4-5 yrs.. Now doctor has said no to dialysis. Because thats the limit.. He suffers sever pain and vomiting and nose bleeding.. He becomes unconscious and has to be hospitalized and wakes up after 24-25 hrs, he was admitted in icu and that's not the first time when this happened, 😭😭don't know what to do for him😢😭..doctors have given up 😢Even the India's biggest doctor couldn't solve his problem(medanta, apollo aiims, pgi etc? ...(sorry for wrong english)

Just found out after 59 years that I have 1 Kidney and the other isn’t where it should be.I only found this out as I changed GP and the new one wanted me to have a blood test and some strange numbers came back regarding the Kidneys, had a ultrasound and a scan and bingo 1 Kidney.
I haven’t had a problem other than high blood pressure at times, so I’m doing fine.
