Minecraft as a whole died down from its peak in 2019 and the inflated number of players in 2020-2021 were from people playing the game because they were quarantined in their homes. This is the most major reason for its downfall. Surprised this video doesn't mention it.

I don’t think the server is dying actually it’s actually quite fine and the most popular creators are still here and uploading the hypixel content tbh

It’s accurate to this day. The amount of sweats on Bedwars and sheer complexity of Skyblock is why I only play duels against friends or Hypixel housing where I can enjoy my time and not worry about the horrendous amount of sweats.

The sad thing though is that a lot of the games that used to be so popular now barely have any playere. A few days ago my friend had mentioned one of his old favorite gamemodes on hypixel that he used to enjoy very much. When I checked it out, it didn't have any players. Same thing that happened to Mineplex, and look at it now

so glad to see my favorite gamemode on hypixel - housing is still thriving and getting updates as one of the few gamemodes on this server. It seems there's one admin that really loves this gamemode and keeps supporting it, I hope simon won't stop him

I think one of the main reasons Hypixel is dying is because of the lack of updates. I started playing in 2018 and it was fun until 2022, I rarely play anymore and it became boring. My friends think that it’s because it doesn’t have bedrock support but idk.

Hypixel's anti-cheat bans around 14, 300 accounts a week. That's it, that's all i have to say.

I took a huge break from hypixel since the end of 2023 hoping that something would have changed, but once i joined back there was nothing new, no new maps in bedwars. Skyblock continues the same. Its really sad to see one of minecraft most loved servers dying.

The problem is also, they ban you straight away if you play good without a rank, they dont even pur effort into the bans but all those obv cheaters dont get banned it just ruins the fun and makes stats grinde pointless

the problem is the balancing system, you are for an example lvl 48 (the level i am in bedwars) and if i go in solo bedwars, the queue has lvl 300 sweats that sit in their room all day being neglected by their parents, if you're a newcomer, it will be the same. As a decent player, I'm having trouble finding joy, all of the players are just too advanced... not to mention the cheaters

I really do sometimes wish hypixel introduced regional servers. Especially in Asia and Australia, Minecraft servers are few and far in between.
You really can't get that hypixel experience anywhere else.

I think it's a combination of all the above however if the server was put onto only the latest version it would also stop people on lower end computer's from playing likely costing thousands of players in the process

i feel like the community has always supported it and had ideas for it, but at some point the hypixel team just stopped developing and adding new content
