These Simpsons moments had to be changed for cultural reasons.

“The Simpsons” is one of the most beloved TV shows ever-- it has 31 seasons for a reason! But of course it’s not just English audiences who love watching the animated family and their crazy antics. There are international versions of “The Simpsons” all over the world, but some make a lot of changes to make sure the show is suitable for their country.

In France, Homer’s signature “d’oh” becomes “t’oh!” And in Italy, the characters speak with so many accents to represent all the different areas in the country. In places like the Middle East, the Simpsons were censored so that Homer wouldn’t be seen drinking beer or eating pork. And in some countries, entire episodes were cut from seasons because they just didn’t translate well. Here are 10 of the biggest changes made to “The Simpsons” in other languages-- and you’ll never believe the changes to a few of the show’s most iconic lines.

The French word for "shampoo" is "douche" so Bart saying "Go douche yourself" is pretty awesome in English too. Oh, Bart.

Sideshow bob also has a different name in German. Here, he is called "Tingeltangel Bob". Tingeltangel seems to be an old timy word for a variety show (but it is not used anymore).

I'm Mexican so I loved the mention of the name changes because it's true but you also forgot to mention that in the translation there is use of slang that don't appear in the USA version, simply to make the show more cultural relatable or in Homer's case instead of saying "Why you little.." he instead says "Pequeño demonio" Which means "Little demon".

I'm from El Paso Texas and we get Mexican channels on our tv so I've been a devoted fan of both The Simpsons and Los Simpsons since the age of nine.

I heard in Canada, they changed Homer's signature catch phrase into *Justin Tru D'oh!*

Funfact!
"Santa's little helper" is in German "Knecht ruprecht". And he's not the helper of Santa but Saint Nicholas! :)
